Susan Mary (Molohon) Bissonette, 89, of Mankato & Stewartville MN, died February 6, 2026.
Susan was born February 1, 1937, in Mankato, Minnesota to Joseph Herman Molohon and Margaret (Herbert) Molohon. Susan was a graduate of Good Counsel High School in Mankato. On September 20, 1958 she married Mark Bissonette. They resided briefly in Grand Island, NE and then moved to Stewartville, Minnesota where they lived for 60 years. Susan was employed as a telephone operator prior to getting married. While raising her youngest children, she was a day care provider, until her retirement.
Sue was known for her no-nonsense straightforwardness. She loved reading and listening to instrumental music and was creatively gifted with art projects. She loved making her kids feel special on birthdays and holidays. We always knew it was “our day”. She never missed her kids’ activities, and loved taking photos to capture all the moments. Sue loved being an aunt, a mom and a grandma for all the kids in her life.
Susan is survived by her sons Nathan (Gaylene) Bissonette, Kevin Bissonette, Matthew (Cheryl) Bissonette, and Dominic (Sarah) Bissonette, and her daughter, Heather (Todd) Ludwig; daughter-in-law Ellen Bissonette; grandchildren Tom, Jon, Kristy, Kaleb, Kody, Karissa, Keira, Madison, Elijah, Aaron, Olivia, Bianca, Mark, Joe, Matt and Paul; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Mark, her son Quinten Bissonette, her parents (Herman and Margaret), her four brothers (Marty, Dick, Jim & Harvey), and three sisters (Elizabeth, Patty, & Peggy).
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggests donations in Sue’s memory to The Pillars of Mankato Dimensions Neighborhood in Mankato Minnesota or Moments Hospice in Mankato Minnesota.
The family will hold a private memorial at a future date. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Cemetery in Mankato Minnesota.
