Ruth E. Hawker

Ruth E. Hawker, age 93 of Le Sueur, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Oak Terrace Senior Living in Le Sueur.

A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be Friday, February 13, 2026 at 1 P.M. at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato, with Pastor Mark Biebighauser officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park at a later date.

Visitation will be on Friday afternoon for one hour prior to services at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel. Arrangements by Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato. www.woodlandhillsfh.com

Ruth was born on September 3, 1932, to Theodore and Amanda (Fluegge) Grundmeyer in Stark Township, Sleepy Eye MN, she was baptized and confirmed at St John’s Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, MN, and Graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1950. Ruth was united in marriage to Wayne Hawker on January 20, 1952, in Sleepy Eye, MN. Ruth worked over the years at the Waseca Clinic and the Mankato Clinic. In her free time, she was an avid Twins and Vikings fan, enjoyed cross-stitching, crossword puzzles, singing in the church choir, and casino trips. Ruth was a member of the Waseca American Legion Auxiliary.

Ruth is survived by children; Pam Hartman of Lewiston, MN; Sarah Madden of Waseca, MN; Susan (Stan) Ziebarth, Madison Lake, MN; Tim (Julie) Hawker of Waseca, MN; Tom Hawker of Springfield, MO; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Hawker of Hutchinson, MN, Phyllis Visher of Chaska, MN, and Dianne Grundmeyer of Shakopee, MN, and  many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Hawker,  sons-in law, Terry Hartman & Peter Madden, her parents, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers.

The Hawker Family would like to thank the staff of Oak Terrace Senior Living in LeSueur and the staff at St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care given to Ruth.
